Beau's Story
Beau Bradley was raised on a ranch in the Texas Panhandle, where hard work and responsibility were part of daily life. That foundation shaped his work ethic and carried into his first business painting houses while still in high school. After graduation, he built a successful drywall company and worked across multiple construction trades, including carpentry and mechanical systems.
Beau began working in artificial rock construction at the Fort Worth Zoo in 1987. After insisting on joining the rock crew, he advanced to rock foreman within seven months on a major zoo project. Because he could read blueprints, set landscape grades, and identify drainage conflicts, he became a key contributor by field-engineering solutions that kept projects on schedule while maintaining commercial-grade craftsmanship. He trained under early pioneers in the artificial rock industry, including Bill Johnson and Darly Stackhouse, mastering:
- Free-carved artificial rock
- Mold creation from natural rock formations
- Artificial rock casting systems
He later worked with the Larson Company on the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine, Texas — one of the region’s most recognized themed developments.
Beau founded Rock-Scapes in 1992, initially completing residential projects with limited equipment but extensive experience. The company quickly expanded into major commercial and zoological projects, including:

- Oklahoma City Zoo

- Fort Worth Zoo
Today, Rock-Scapes serves Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and New Mexico, and has completed projects in Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Montana.
In 2008, Rock-Scapes was selected to renovate the historic Dallas Waterfall Billboard along I-35 in downtown Dallas. Recognized as one of North Texas’ most iconic landmarks, the sign is protected by the City of Dallas as an “extraordinarily significant sign” under Ordinance No. 27067. This project remains one of Beau’s proudest achievements and reflects the level of trust placed in Rock-Scapes for high-visibility landmark restoration.
